Knitpro - Interchangeable Cables and Keys

Made of resilient and flexible material, Knitpro cables work with all Knitpro tips - Karbonz, Symfonie, Zing, SmartStixs & Trendz. They provide a smooth, long-threaded screw-in “join” which ensures that cables and needles stay connected.

We carry three different types of Knitpro cables, each has it's benefits:

• The classic Nylon range is a lovely nylon cable and is the least expensive 
• The Smartstix range is also made of nylon but has markings every 2 cm on the cables so that you can use it as a measuring tape
• The Swivel range is the most expensive but provides an 360 degree swivel feaure which allows your cable to automatically untwist 

All three styles provide a tightening hole in the metal join for extra secure tightening using Knitpro's specially designed “key”. Each cable comes with two End caps that easily screw onto the cables and keeps your knitting safe when used as stitch holders.

Knitpro cable lengths assume that the interchangable tips have already been added, so you might have to do some math!  First, calulcate the total length of the tips, then check the list below for the closest length:

• Knitpro Regular tips are 13 cm each x 2 tips = 26 cm
• Knitpro Special (Short) tips are 10 cm each x 2 tips = 20 cm 

Knitpro stated length versus actual length: 

• A 40 cm cable is 20 cm long before adding tips
• A 50 cm cable is 30 cm long before adding tips
• A 60 cm cable is 35 cm long before adding tips
• A 80 cm cable is 56 cm long before adding tips
• A 100 cm cable is 76 cm long before adding tips
• A 120 cm cable is 94 cm long before adding tips
• A 150 cm cable is 126 cm long before adding tips

Examples:  if you are using 10 cm tips and a 80 cm cable, your total length will be 76 cm.  If you are using 13 cm tips and a 50 cm cable, your length will be 56 cm.
